The universe is fond of doing whatever it wants. Meet Cindy: a very special molly mule who floated into my life this summer, bringing plenty of smiles, an unmistakable bray, and a sweet adventure in building a partnership from the inside out.

The $10 Mare and the Cul-de-Sac
“Rosie is a little bit like a prism. If you look at her one way, you see a ‘$10 mare’…fractious, sensitive, and standing at the bottom of the global horse stack. But if you shift your perspective just a few degrees, she looks like a million bucks, with a mahogany coat and a chocolatey nicker that is honestly good for the soul.

In every great story, there is a character who sits on the edge of the room—misunderstood beings like Mary Lennox or Elsa who don’t give their trust for free. This is Novella. Discover how a ‘reluctant’ 13.3-hand Lipizzan taught me the true love language of peace and the disciplined restraint of the horsemanship pursuit.

A 50-degree day in January feels like a personal gift from the universe. My bald faced hornets are still squatting in the barn. Haven’t stung yet, so I’m all about live and let live especially since they’ve kept the yellow jackets down.

The roundpen’s been muggy all week-overcast and 75 degrees. Honestly, I like the humidity if it stays under 80. God half-watered our workspace, and even though it’s still a bit dusty, I’m grateful. Revlon basically looks like a (very beautiful)…

(Diary journal entry from a few months ago.) A few days ago, a horse named Cowgirl arrived at my place for some development work. I’ve known this mare for a year or two, as her owner is one of my…

This last week I was planning to pick up a BLM 2 year old mustang for our local Teens And Oregon Mustangs event. Along with many other participants, I was excited! We got to pick 5 from a list of…
